Social Security Disability

Social security disability is an insurance program provided by the United States and state governments for the purpose of providing people whom are qualified (disabled) with income on a monthly basis.

At Hammett, Bellin & Oswald, Attorney Jeffrey P. Kippa leads the Social Security practice.

The process of filing for Social Security Disability can be very complicated and endlessly frustrating. To help you proceed along the correct path, the initial steps are provided below.

  1. File your initial Social Security Disability application, being sure to complete all form, and submit them to the Social Security Administation on or before the due date.
  2. If you receive a denial, which is the customary situation, don’t panic. First and even second denials are common. The Social Security Administration often denies people who are truly disabled and deserving of benefits.
  3. File a Request for Reconsideration. Requests for reconsideration must be filed within 60 days. You may not her from the SS department for several months.
  4. If you are denied again, contact Attorney Kippa at Hammett, Bellin & Oswald. This is the point at which you need an attorney to help you with your claim.

No Fees unless you win

Hammett, Bellin & Oswald only charges a fee to their Social Security Disability clients if they win. Fees are limited to 25% of your past due benefits or $5,200.00, whichever is less.
